Murray: To Stay or To Go

Aaron Murray has a BIG decision ahead of him. Will he forego his senior season in Athens and try his hand in the NFL, or will he stay with the Dawgs and give the SEC and National titles 1 more shot? Honestly, I can't blame him either way. As a high school aged Dawg fan, I remember being devastated and astonished that Champ Bailey could dare pass up another year playing between the hedges. As an adult with a family, a mortgage and responsibilities, my perspective is a bit different. I mean, sure, I'd have given anything for the opportunity to put on the silver britches and trot out between the hedges, but even I can understand and appreciate the opportunity to take care of your family financially for generations. Also, Murray's case reminds me a lot of Rennie Curran. Curran went pro early because he said his only major

Well, I haven't blogged nearly as often as I'd like to this year, but it hasn't been without good reason. Though not in terms of blogging, I have been very active on the internet this year. I teamed up with ecdawg at LHB to develop and roll out a brand new Bulldog news site, GATA News Net. We're still working on getting DawgNation to add to their bookmarks, but I'm very proud of the way the site turned out. In addition to GATANews, I've also been very involved in the rise of the Hobnail Boot Blog. Bigredballer reached out to me this summer expressing interest in the two of us joining up to create a new blog. I've been stretched pretty thin, but I agreed to help out, and I'm very happy I did. HBB is doing quite well and Bigredballer always has great

For the 3 people that might visit my site, I can save your worry - I am still alive and kicking. January 31st was WAY too long ago for my last blawg, but life's been pretty dang busy lately so I just haven't had much chance to sit down and write. But, I'm excited about this week, so I'm making some time right now ... This upcoming weekend is DawgNight baby!! For UGA recruitniks DawgNight has become the most exciting period of the year, save maybe signing day - maybe. DawgNight 2011 was absolutely EPIC with UGA nabbing 5 high profile commitments including one of the crown jewels of the 2012 class in 5 star John Theus, a QB of the future in 2013 Brice Ramsey and a speedy running back of the distant future in 2014 Stanley BOOM Williams. Also committing that night was

Prospect Evaluation: Sheldon Dawson

National Signing Day is tomorrow, and, from everything I'm hearing, UGA fans will have a LOT to cheer about tomorrow. Talents like Avery Young, Cordarelle Patterson, Jaquay Williams, Josh Harvey-Clemons and maybe even a few surprises will make tomorrow a VERY interesting day, indeed. Yesterday, Dawg fans received great news when the #1 player in Tennessee, Sheldon Dawson, verbally committed to Mark Richt and Georgia. He'll likely play corner and most think we will step into the Mr. Versatility role played so effectively lately by Brandon Boykin. To give a MUCH better description of Dawson, below is a review by kingjamez. As always, big thanks to Kingjamez!

In addition to the evaluation below, be sure to check out the one by Leather Helmet Blog`s resident expert, CoachP.

<br

With only the bowl game remaining in the 2011 season, recruiting is really starting to heat up. Make sure you're checking out Socrates's updates on Leather Helmet Blog. You won't get any better UGA recruiting information anywhere. With recruiting heating up, Kingjamez has picked back up with his detailed prospect evaluations. Today he's reviewed 2012 prospect Jordan Jenkins. Jenkin's recruitment has been very intriguing, to say the least. Gator insiders think he's a Gator-lock (some even intimating that he's already commited). Bama has a big-time booster there in Harris County that makes the Bammers think they've got him in the bag. Auburn thinks they're always the leader for anyone who mentions the War Eagle, and many UGA insiders feel that Grantham will be able to sell Jenkins on Athens. Jenkins has set January 9th as

1)	When was the SEC Championship Game over? Many will say it could have been the Jordan Jefferson touchdown pass to Kenny Hilliard to go up 28-10 in the third quarter. I think it was the Malcolm Mitchell drop in the first. Even though I was still excited about the way we played in the second quarter, the doubt started to creep in once Mitchell dropped an easy touchdown pass. At that point, I realized we wanted this game a little too much but simply not ready for a big game against a huge opponent like LSU. I also realized we had just run out of chances to score on LSU. They weren't going to play like that the rest of the game and two dropped TD passes meant Bobo was pulling out everything he could early and often. But the many 3-and-outs afterwards

It's December and you know what that means. Conference championships? Nope. Bowl games? Nada. Heisman Presentation? Eh-eh. It's the Coaching Carousel! Although it's never fun to see anyone lose his/her job, it is interesting to see what programs are ready for a change and which teams truly think their team is worth the moon and the stars. Below is my top 10 list of BCS teams with coaching vacancies and their ranking of best jobs to have if you were a top coach. Please note that I wrote some of this before these jobs were filled so I'm writing this article as if every job was open at the same time. And, I started writing this after Urban Meyer took the Ohio State job. So, here goes:

1)	Penn State - I know they are

Interesting statement. Or, maybe not. It depends on which side of the stadium you sit. But before you click away from this page just here me out.

Why not Georgia? Let's think about it. Too many people are consumed around two teams to believe the best one could emerge from the supreme conference come Saturday night. Georgia is coming into the SEC Championship Game on a 10-game winning streak. Aaron Murray is a top 5 quarterback and arguably the best in the SEC. They have the no. 5 defense in the country and two blowout wins over two ranked teams (at the time they played them). If Georgia puts a helmet on LSU and wins this game, they've shown the best and hottest team in the country is not LSU or Alabama but rather the Bulldogs.

An 11-game
